East is 5!

He had been counting down the days since Eryn's birthday in August so let's just say it was a little over due! Because he had so much time til his birthday he changed his mind about a hundred times on what kind of theme he wanted. First it was Spiderman and he wanted me to make a cake with Spiderman swinging from buildings (no pressure)!! Let's just say thank goodness he changed his mind. Then he wanted to do a ninja turtle one which I was ok with I just didn't think we would be able to find party stuff with the ninja turtles on it because of how old they are and I was right. So then it was the dreadful power rangers. Cody and I totally loathe these guys but East loves them because they do karate moves but also turn into dinosaurs! Thank heavens we couldn't find party stuff for these guys either! But as you can imagine East was getting really upset because every party theme he had wanted we could not find. I immediately went into karate mode ha ha. I said why don't you have a cool totally awesome karate party! We could have cool red plates and cool black napkins and red and black balloons and I could make everyone a cool danielson headband to wear and make you a cool karate kid cake! And let me tell you with all those cools in there he was totally excited and loving the idea! So from the karate/ninja theme he decided he wanted the danielson headbands but wanted his cake and banner to be ninjagos (they are legos that are all ninjas and have spinjutzu power). He loves them and had asked for them for his birthday. So that's what we did, the headbands with a cute ninjago banner and a fantastic ninjago cake that had his favorite ninjago guy on it Kai. It looked amazing thanks to my wonderfully talented mother! Thanks again mom for all your help! So happy ninjago/karate kid birthday Easton we love you so much and want to say thanks to everyone for all their love and support!

We love you buddy!

Fall Decor

I bought this way cute shadow box from this place called Wood Creations and I just finished it and the cute fall wood things that go inside. Just in time. The shadow box was unfinished wood when I got it so I put two coats of black paint on and then a satin finish. This is what really took the longest. The little decorations inside were actually fun to paint. They have different kits that go inside for each season or holiday so I am going to go get the Halloween ones soon. Anyway I think it turned out cute and it ties my kitchen in with my family room decor. Hope you like it!

Eryn's Dance

Eryn started dance last week and she just loves it! I wasn't sure how she would do when I found out that parents could not stay and watch. She is pretty shy around people she doesn't know and usually will cry so all week I had been telling her that I couldn't stay in the dance room with her just to prepare her a little bit but it actually helped a ton. When I went to leave she just waved to me and started telling her teacher, Miss Stephanie about the different tutu's she had at home. The parents could come in the last 10 minutes and when I went in she was doing everything! Smiling and laughing and was so excited to show me all the things she learned. I'm so glad she loved it and that we can actually give her a little attention now. It was very much needed. And I love the cute little dance outfits! I want to buy like 20 of them but she only has class once a week so maybe 3 or 4 will do!
